Burgess Hill CC

Welcome to Burgess Hill CC

Our Club is one of the leading clubs in Mid Sussex and play their fixtures in the picturesque St John’s Park close to the centre of Burgess Hill. Burgess Hill Cricket Club are proud to have been appointed by Sussex County Cricket Club and the ECB as a Focus Club for this area of the County. Burgess Hill CC has achieved ECB ClubMark accreditation which demonstrates our commitment to a safe child friendly junior section. This coming year the club will again be working with Sussex CCC and the ECB on the Chance2Shine programme. This involves the club delivering in excess of 300 hours of fully qualified ECB level II coaching to primary school children in and around Burgess Hill.

2010 has seen the club have its best season for more than a decade and Burgess Hill CC has been the most successful team in the area. The 1st XI were runners up in the Sussex County League Division 3 having won 9 of their last 10 games and the 2nd XI third in their division at one stage winning 7 games on the bounce. With the 1st XI having an average age of only 23 and consisting in the main of 'local' lads, the future is bright and is vindication of the club's strong, vibrant and ever growing academy youth policy. The Club's third Saturday side will this year play in the Stoner Mid Sussex Cricket League,Division 5 and the 4th XI will play in the Stoner Conference. The 2011 season starts on the 16th April with friendlies, league action commences on the 30th April and continues until early September.

Outdoor senior nets take place every Thursday evening from early April at St Johns Park from 6.00pm. They continue every week until the end of the season. The club is actively seeking county standard players to assist the push for promotion this season. All newcomers young or old are welcome to come along to these sessions and join the most successful club in the area. Coaching sessions for all the youth players are held every Friday evenings from 4.30 pm through to 7.30pm. All youngsters are coached by professionally qualified ECB Level 2 coaches to ensure their potential is fully developed in a safe and friendly environment.

The coming season will again see the club playing friendlies on Sundays as we give even more youngsters from our academy the chance to bridge the gap and gain experience of adult cricket.
